currently i am the highest bidder on this present for ed on ebay. dont outbid me. i need this. haha
anyways, today was my first real day of christmas break. well i mean i forgot about yesterday. but i danno if that counted. i didnt wake up till 1 (i got home from toledo at 4 am). had a family chat of about 3 hours. cleaned my room and made a letter box for myself from all the stuff i got from germany. i love it. back to today. i was so discombobulated (wow that word is so funny spelled out) , when i woke up because i rearranged my room (like i do everytime i am home) and i couldnt find anything. naturally i was late for church but oh well. before church it was like not that cold and everything was already starting to melt. i was sad because i love the snow... but when we came out it was a blizzard. and i loved everybit of it. especially when i was at the mall (two different ones...) and NO ONE was there because they were afraid of the blizzard. today i started my christmas shopping. i need a few more things i am done. its nice, i am pretty much loving buying things online. even in the blizzard i can still get things. or at 12:30 at night when most stores are closed. dang. i love it.
So i am going to go to indy christmas conference. i got a scholarship to go (i cant afford it otherwise) its like 4 days of message, break out sessions (about anything from relationships to joining staff with crusade), going out in the community and serving Indianapolis, time with our campus (like ice skating or something) and lots of praise and worship and love from tons of friends. i am so excited . this is my first year going... its going to be awesome!!! i cant wait to see what god has planned to teach me while i am there. i could use a spiritual boost. it will be so exciting! yay for new years too, we get to pray in the new year. how cool is that, the first thing you do in 2008 is pray. not many people can say that! i am pumped.
i am seeing enchanted with the women in my family on tuesday, and going to my moms classroom (firstgrade) on weds and thursday. they wrote me letters begging me to come and visit them. i loved them, they cant spell at all. it was like a game to guess what they were acctually trying to say. and then on friday i get to go to Sharon's preschool and dress up like an elf\and tell them that santa was too busy checking the lists twice so he sent me instead. i am so excited, i love dressing up for little kids. last year i was cinderella. and kids acctually thought i was her. it was so much fun. (ps. one of my lifetime goals is to be in an ice-capade as the Teapot from beauty and the beast. )
thats all for now. i am loving the wireless and the freedom...
ciao

I have exactly one hour and 20 minutes until my german exam.
I have mostly studied for it, but need to cram the vocab in.
i am over it, and want to surf the web instead. haha i am sitting in our brand new library, we have like pods with 8 computers around a circle. its kinda weird, but this is the only computer lab on campus. so its really crowded. luckily i got a computer... to do some work. right.
anyways. i cant believe its already the middle of november. When did this happen? A friend told me the summer before i started college that your freshman year goes by fast, but every year after that goes by even faster. I didnt think it was possible. It is. when i was in germany the time flew by, this semester doesnt even compare. wow. we have like less than 20 days before christmas break. i guess i should start thinking about exams. blah! already?!
Life. well whats been going on? hmm where did i leave off? Fall break. wow. feels like ages ago.... why is it like that? that time feels like it is speeding up, even though we have so many conveniences to help us make things quicker.
school: is going fine, like i said its almost the end of the semester! i have a german presentation today too about islam in germany. it should be interesting. I was interested in learning about Islam and the muslim culture. its awesome, and i really like it... send me to TURKEY! please! haha
akpsi: oh man. its been crazy trying to get everything in order, we have had a lot of events that went ok. today we have the auditor of state coming to speak to the university. i hope people show up... its a big deal! sometimes i feel like people cant talk to me because i am vice president, and i miss my friends in akpsi. i am always up front.... elections are coming up soon. I have my position all year, but it should be interesting to see who wins....
RA: my residents are ok... kinda keep to themselves. but whatever. I had a meeting this past monday to speak to them about bathroom cleanliness... everyone was having different expectations and it was getting out of control for no reason. I am just about done with programming, i had a study abroad program which was ok, only 2 residents showed up but a bunch of ras from other buildings came, and i guess that 3 of the people who showed up made appointments to try and study abroad. so thats what its all about! and yesterday we had " Learn how to Swing Dance" It was a hit! We had about 20 people show up and my two friends who are in the ballroom dance society came and taught us for about an hour. It was so much fun and the perfect amount of people! :) I really enjoyed it and want to do it in the spring .... like i have time.. who am i kidding. I am not sure where I want to be an RA next year, i am thinking of going back to community bathroom, i danno it just seemed like my residents were more like to get out and play! haha we will see, i have a few weeks to decide. All i know is that I cant afford not to be a RA, life is so expensive...
Speaking of expensive, i really want to go to Christmas conference with crusade from dec 28- jan 1 but at the moment, i cant afford it.. hopefully i can get a scholarship or something. i have never gone and i think it would be awesome.
i am really loving my life group at my church, we did a class called Bible Essentials. and it was a basic bible class explaining anything you ever wanted to know about the bible. It was interesting and I knew alot of it but found somethings out that were neat. A few sundays ago we directed traffic (my Church is huge!) and it was hilarious and so much fun! We are doing it this week too! My new mentor is really great, we are doing a study on "When godly people do ungodly things" by Beth Moore (who is an amazing author/devotional writer!) she is amazing and really challenges you to look at yourself. its great and we have so much to talk about and learn from each other. Last week Ed got to speak in front of crusade about his time in canada this summer. He really did a great job, and i was proud of him. He is trying to encourage other guys to go on the summer project!
I have been working out again. Ed and I started to... well its mostly me. He is hard to wake and get out of bed to meet me at the rec. oh well every little bit helps right? I have been trying to eat better and more balanced. I am just sick of being unhealthy and eating fast food crap. haha
christmas is around the corner. I dont want much, but I have complied a list
I think thats all for now...
ciao!
See you soon! YUM THANKSGIVING! I cant wait!!!!!!! real food! Family! FUN!

is it really october? its so nice. like i love my fall clothes and everything, but man this is wonderful.
speaking of wonderful, i have recently made it back from mississippi. Honestly it was great and went way too fast. I had a blast getting to know my brother better, hanging up tyvek (stuff that goes around the houses), eating wonderful southern food and seeing a place i called home last summer. It was great to see everyone out of their element and stretch their boundaries and try their hardest to risk even more than they would think they ever could. (if that made any sense). for me to go back it was unreal. it has developed so much since i had been back. For me alot has changed, but for people who it was their first time to the pass they were shocked on how it looked like the storm hit yesterday. or at least last month. We are trying to get the word out, about how there is alot for us college kids to do. I would love for it to be in the collegian and we got it on our national website, akpsi.org. next thing is a thank you letter to our supporters and a college of business newsletter. But we have decided we don't want it to be all about us, we want it to represent that college kids can make a difference and there is so much more of a difference to be made. after two years, the work is no where near being done.
i want to add pictures!

remember when i said i knew what i wanted to do.
i lied.
i have no idea. i am acctually thinking really i dont want a real job until i am 27. that seems like a good age. why? because i am 20(almost 21!) but have no idea what i want to do with the rest of my life at the moment. like what if what i decided and spent thousands of dollars on i hate in 5 or 10 years. really? what will happen then? blah. whatever.
and then last night god was soo cool. I joined this biblestudy/homegroup from my chruch in toledo. my chruch up here is huge, like the chapel but bigger and more modern. like the chapels youngest son or something. anyways, since its so big its hard to get to know anyone and yeah that makes it difficult to be at home at chruch. so i searched around, and didnt have to look far but there is a group that meets on monday nights (which works perfectly for me!) and yeah, i found someone to give me a ride (i dont have a car and its wayy to far to bike) so yeah and last night it was really cool just to be real with these people. annddd there was a girl there that i knew from the chapel. like i mean we wernt best friends or anything but i regconized her face and was like ah! i know you. she goes to bg and its really weird like such a small world.
anyways, this is exactly what i needed and i am so thankful for god to provided me. like wow. and i am really excited to see where god leads us. anyways.
today work is slow. its beautiful out and i cant wait to go to mississippi for fall break. its going to be awesome.
yay for upcoming fun in september and october. SO busy.
1- Big little night!
2- football season!
3- birthday
4-homecoming week - esp the parade!
5-fall break and heading to mississippi
6-ed and i two year !!
7-halloween
8-novemeber.
where did the semester go? hahah

hitch hiking
i just want to run away.
run away from all this madness.
do i like it? i dont think so.
do i want more of this craziness? no thanks.
I barely have time to eat. let alone excerise, read, play, talk, grab coffee and socialize. why?
i want to be done with school. i think i am getting senioritist alittle too early. i am just so OVER this call thing. i have already spent four years in college (yahhoo akron.) and i am like blah. are we there yet? but what and where is "there"?
maybe its because i think i know what i want to do. or have a clue. and its getting me excited and ready to be done. maybe its because i start to think of how much money i am in debt. maybe its because i think about all this stuff that i am "learning" but will never once use in my job.
eh. blah.
other than that i am having a wonderful day.
and it seems to me that i have fallen head over heels for this boy, again. its so weird. like i have a big crush on him. but he is already my boyfriend! haha oh well

Regardless of the number of people counting on you -- independent of your position of authority or responsibility -- everything does not depend on you; there are many things you don't understand. Humbly admit the truth. Put your confidence in God rather than yourself.
this really hit me today, as i am sitting doing nothing at work.
ahh i run from one thing to the next. i need to rest and let god take control. ah
all i have is yours. take from me my heart.
in other news another one of my friends is engaged.
thats its. see you later.

google. my best friend.
so its been a really long time. (ah! almost a month) but still. i need to update my readers and my jounral of the things that has been happening this month.
first of all.
RA training is over. whoop. it was long and really dry. i mean i know they tried but yah. anyways, i made some really great new RA friends. like hope, stephanie and amy. my hall looked really good, it was a rock and roll theme and to my delight most of the records and stuff are still hanging. soo yip! haha move in went smooth, my residents are ok, they stay in their rooms all the time. i want them to get out and come to things but i cant get them to.
next.
my friend Shelia got married. I knew this girl from my freshmen year. we both went on spring break trip to mississippi to help with katrina relief, but we did not have any friends. so basically we were BFFs and got really close. anyways, she and her husband had just started dating right before spring break so it was really cool to have seen the whole thing develop. The wedding was the weekend of move in, which was a hassle trying to miss it and be at the wedding. it was a great girls weekend and we had a lot of fun at the rehersal dinner and bachlorette party and the wedding was goregous. the weather was perfect. me and chels passed out programs. it was such a beautiful weekend.
the first week of classes: oh man. it rained alot.
so i will tell you about my classes. (this may get long. feel free to skim)
Business Law: our teacher is old and cranky and hates the heat so he lets us out early. i have no idea what that test is going to be on because his lectures are all over the place. blah.
Management: i really like my teacher, but we have alot busy work. so yeah i mean but how can you teach management? its like people know how or they dont. or by experiances.
Marketing: i have alot of friends in this classes and the teacher like spoon feeds us. i feel like everything is over lapping with managment and i cant tell the classes apart.
Stats 2: ahh my asian teach is crazy. she is nice, but i danno. her english is not so good, better than my stats 1 but still. i have a good group of kids in there to study with
german 3010: ahh this class has four other students in it, i like my teacher but she is strict. oh well. hopefully i can keep up. i feel like i dont have enough vocab, so i have gone to the tutor to help and hopefully will have a lanaguage partner to work with. I recently got a package from julia and kathrin and in it had three disney movies on tape all in german. they are awesome to listen to.
career development: what a joke. but at UT we have this new program that basically does your resume for you electronically, its like you just pick and choose what you want it to look like and poof its done. haha oh well.
and then i work at the graduate college. its really easy at the moment. it will probably get busy here within the next few weeks for spring semester. but its nice to relax.
i have class everyday until 7. and its not as bad as it sounds i guess, but i dont want to do that agian next semester. blah.
ummm i have phone dates setup with my flatmates on thursday, its really nice to keep in contact with her. i looked up my one language partner who is a model, remember her? well she is pregnant and has done some modeling with that. they look awesome. but yeah i guess there are a few new students in our bible study and one girl from toledo! so thats cool! :) god is really moving in Luneburg!
the first few weeks being back at toledo has been like reverse culture shock. basically i miss germany and the way things are set up in europe. i got really used to the quiet life. and relaxed. i dont really enjoy this busyiness. but i mean i love these people, it just stinks always being on the go. i feel like it makes life run past you and you dont get to fully enjoy the time. i danno, i mean i guess i am getting used to it, but i dont know if i want to. i really want to go back to germany next summer for a bit to work on some more school, or maybe head over for my masters. who knows what the future will bring. and i am nervous about that too. its my third year of college and i have the most generic major. but i dont care, i want to travel and get paid. like work for a study abroad company and go and check out campuses to send our students to. that would be awesome. anyways. now i am rambling.
and if anyone even reads this far
here is my address:
Crossings 1307
3061 W Bancroft Ave.
Toledo OH 43606
send me love.

career development: what a joke. but at UT we have this new program that basically does your resume for you electronically, its like you just pick and choose what you want it to look like and poof its done. haha oh well.
and then i work at the graduate college. its really easy at the moment. it will probably get busy here within the next few weeks for spring semester. but its nice to relax.
i have class everyday until 7. and its not as bad as it sounds i guess, but i dont want to do that agian next semester. blah.
ummm i have phone dates setup with my flatmates on thursday, its really nice to keep in contact with her. i looked up my one language partner who is a model, remember her? well she is pregnant and has done some modeling with that. they look awesome. but yeah i guess there are a few new students in our bible study and one girl from toledo! so thats cool! :) god is really moving in Luneburg!
the first few weeks being back at toledo has been like reverse culture shock. basically i miss germany and the way things are set up in europe. i got really used to the quiet life. and relaxed. i dont really enjoy this busyiness. but i mean i love these people, it just stinks always being on the go. i feel like it makes life run past you and you dont get to fully enjoy the time. i danno, i mean i guess i am getting used to it, but i dont know if i want to. i really want to go back to germany next summer for a bit to work on some more school, or maybe head over for my masters. who knows what the future will bring. and i am nervous about that too. its my third year of college and i have the most generic major. but i dont care, i want to travel and get paid. like work for a study abroad company and go and check out campuses to send our students to. that would be awesome. anyways. now i am rambling.
and if anyone even reads this far
here is my address:

end of summer.
so its almost been a month since my last post here.
i apologize. its hard work keeping this updated. but i like it.
i have one week from today until i go back to school. i am really excited to start this semester. i think because i havent been to toledo in a few months.
what have i been up to...
hmm....
babysitting of course. here is ed teaching hannah how to skip rocks.
old friends and new ones.

weddings. well two. and they were awesome. notice i wore the same dress. ah who cares.

ed came to visit after his time in canada with crusade. it was a great time to spend with him. He learned alot about being a man of God and thats exactly what i need him to be in our relationship. you can def be praying for that and for the fall, if god is calling us to lead a bible study within our fraternity or what to do about fellowship in the fall.
and i am scrapbooking like crazy, have to get updated. you have to see it. it looks awesome.
and last but not least i got a new bike. you know how i was obsessed with my bike in germany. my mom found a 50s style crusier (with back pedal brakes) and its a like purple pink and i bought a new seat, light and a basket. i have been working on it for a few days now and it looks awesome. I cant wait to take it to toledo (as my main mode of transportation... yip!) i love it.

anyways. next update will probably be from school with pictures of the new room! :)
hope all is well! keep reading

labor of love...
hey guys, spent a nice relaxing week out at the lake house. it was really hott. almost too hot for ohio in june. weird. but it was nice to see the fam and swim and hang out.
lots of babysitting coming up. like i work from next sunday until next friday i think striaght. oh yum. its cool bc i need the money. speaking of money this lady def jipped me in babysitting... she wrote me a check for cash, i couldnt cash it only she could. she has yet to repay me. i have a feeling it will be awhile.....
but in other news.
oh and last year on labor day my family did this run (called Labor of Love) and my brother won it for mens and my sisters got 2nd and 3rd for womens. (i on the other hand was just praying to finish) but we made a promise that from last year on that no matter where we were in our lives that we would come back and run that race with eachother as a family. we have been really broken and seperated these past six months so it will be great to get connected and train for it together. and i almost forgot why i was bringing this up. i was at church on sunday and i saw that the brochure was already out to sign up for it (like its a huge run for the city) and i pick it up and amy and matt were on the front cover and kelly was on the back. live and livin color they were running! it was almost a sign from god saying "dont forget to stick together and do that race again..." it was cool here is kelly below, you can see a little bit of amy's hand. we get pretty intense.

speaking of intense ed is changing alot and his summer project has been nothing short of intense. his stiches came out on wednesday and he is being physically, mentally and spiritually challeneged everyday. i cant wait to see him... he is thinking of coming to akron on his way back so like july 15 ish. what will we do now that we are in the same country? haha
ok thats all.
ciao.

Munich and Greece!
Hello there, it has been a few days since i have last updated!!! Buts thats because i was away on "holiday" as they like to call it in europa. But first, i would like to just share with you what a typical outfit on a rainy day might look like....
Just kidding. but i really did wear that out. it was sooo funny. anyways, back to the trips!\
i headed to munich last tuesday by train and i stayed in a hostel (it was a 40 person dorm. i will never do that again, i got no sleep with all the noise, but it was cheap!) on tuesday the weather was crappy and rainy ( go figure) and i walked around and found a really neat art museum and spent some time there. after that i came back to the hostel and met a guy from alabama, he was nice and we had dinner together. on wedsnedayi walked around downtown munich (Marinzplatz- where the famous coo-coo clock is and then i took a free bike tour around the city! it was great! and i met alot of really cool travelers,
and then we went to the hofbrauhaus (a big bier garten)
and enjoyed the umpa-music and german beer! :)
thursday i caught a flight to athens in the afternoon.
i met up with a guy that had been studying here in lueneburg with me, brooks
and we had a great time.
friday we saw the acropolis (full of cranes and scaffolding, they have been working on it since 1970s... haha) but it was really neat to see the ruins and such.
then we headed to the agora where we got yelled at for posing with the statues....
haha it was crazy.
next we went to the highest point in athens to see the typical white greek church. it was really pretty ( i have a bit more pictures but i will show you them later)
we headed to the national gardens where they had a cool "zoo" filled with pigeons, and goats and rabbits and peacocks. haha it was so funny.... we had amazing greek food the whole time we were there ( i ate feta cheese every day, its my new addiction, i love it) . anyways on saturday morning we just BARELY made the ferry over to Mykonos island. it was about a five hour trip and when we got there and on most of the ride it was raining. and it wouldnt be a big deal, one day of rain, but it hasnt rained in athens or that area for 6 months, and i have had plenty of rainy days in germany. haha so yah we were like stuck in our cabin
(or more like a cabinet bc it was soo tiny! doesnt he look happy?? haha) we stayed at this camp ground thing, and we could have slept in a tent but thankfully we didnt.
it was really nice and right on the beach with a restuarant, bar, ity bity pool, and yah so day two and three were gorgous. on the second day there we rented a mo-peds (because thats the cool thing to do in greece!)
and rode around the island and then had a yummy sea food dinner into town. on monday evening we headed back to athens for one more night and then left early tuesday. which was perfect
beacause the european championship was held in athens and it was getting crazy!!!
yesterday one of the girls i met in munich was visiting hamburg and had seen all the sights so she came to luneburg and i showed her around a real small german town (she had only been to big cities, and they all start to look alike after a while) so yah we had fun and ate sushi (which i LOVE) with my flatmates. she was really cool
today i said some good byes to my language partner and some other friends at the uni. it was sad but thankfully a great day for weather.
tomorrow i leave for a camping trip with my flatmate katrin (julia left for norway today!) we are really excited except the weather has predicted rain (GO FIGURE!) so hopefully it will miss us. we will canoe and hike and bbq and all sorts of fun stuff. i am very excited.
the new girl also came and is living in my old room. that is wierd. but yah hopefully she will enjoy herself.
i am getting excited and ready to come home. :) cant wait to hear all about your life!! :)
