I have made some lists while being in the states about a few things.
enjoy.
Things I will miss about Deutschland
- nutella (the chocolate spread). eating this everyday all day long.
- early morning chats with julia
- bryan and our bible study. i learned so much
- H&M everywhere and Karstadt (like an upscale target. but with more and better)
- musli (granola)
- brunch or eating just bread and spread for a meal.
- biking, for transportation. my bike here needs work and a basket.
- the fabulous trains. dang.
- counting up change that acctually will add up to something. and paying for something using only change.
- cheap airfare. anywhere.
- fresh fruit and veggies all the time.
- calling my professors by their first name
- only having 3-6 other people in my classes
- Penny's and other cheap groceries.
- 8 am test, every friday morning.
- all the rain
- creepy men and gross subways.
- the euro currency against the dollar (getting screwed)
- small fridges and freezers
- having the wrong ticket on the subway, because i cant read czech or greek
- the german "stare"
- bad european smell, dress and hair
- pushy people.
Things I learned
(that I know right at this moment and can put on paper, even though there is so much more, that may not hit me until a few months or years)
- How to cook. or more or less how to eat healthier and cheap
- how to save money but to see and do everything that i ever wanted to and more. to make my money stretch
- how to reasearch and write a long paper (18 pages)
- who my real friends are
- to trust god with everything. it is in his control and his timing is perfect.
- Church is outside the four walls of a building
- how to overcome culutural and langauge barriers to establish good relationships
- German! how to study, speak, read and write and still PASS!! :)
