life....

Hello happy bloggers...

my computer was being fixed but hopefully now up and running. I am at the library (my fav spot!) and hanging out before Campus Crusade has its meeting tonite!
Updates on life.

Classes - since they are all on tuesday thursdays and i am liking it alot. i just suck it up and its already the weekend! haha my finance class (the one i was most worried about) i just got an A on our first quiz! so yay! i mean if i keep up with these classes i should do fine. Today in my global strategies class my group had to present a case study on Amazon Japan and the book store industry in japan and it was really neat to see how different Japan is from American. Plus i think our group did a really great job, our professor is really great and i think he liked it! :)

Akpsi--- is starting to be full blown in motion. we just came back from ski trip (more on that later), we had two RUSH nights and our interviews are next week for our new pledges! its weird to think that i am considered an older member... i dont feel old... next week we have a HUGE event on campus called "last rocket standing" and its like the TV show, last comic standing and students have been trying out and everything for this event. it has been marketed big time so hopefully a bunch of people come! then lots of other stuff for this semester with akpsi which I am so blessed with so many opportunities

ski trip- we headed to collingwood ontario in canada to ski last weekend and it was great! Ed and I skied both days and we were really hard core about it! i even went down some black diamonds (those are the really hard ones!) haha we had a good time in really nice chalets (even though ours didnt have water.... it was like camping. but not as fun. ) but overall it was a fun time... ed had a major wipe out and lost his binding for the back of his ski and then he also got a ticket 17 km away from the US border for having his lisence plate covered because of the salt and sand from the snow storm earlier in the day... he got an expensive ticket. he is not happy about that. booo. anyways i loved it and was a true snow bunny! haha i will up load pictures from my computer when it is up and running.... be patient! but the worse thing that happened is now everyone is sick in AKPSI including me... i feel terrible... chills, and stuffy nose, and everything. yuck!

cooking - new apartment! I have been cooking alot, last night i made taco pie! (thanks kathy!) and it was really good! i have left overs for the weekend! if you have more recipes i would love them! i am really enjoying it and so are my roomies! (and ed of course! ) i really like my roommates alot, we dont hang out a ton, but its fine i think we are going to have a fine semester...

speaking of roommates, its time to think of where i am going to live next year (MY SENIOR YEAR! when did this come about so fast!?) i danno what i am doing this summer let alone where i want to live next year... anyways there are a few girls in crusade that we are all friends and are looking into getting a house... hopefully god provides and it will work out awesome. i cant wait!

ohhh i just started two books, one Harry potter 7 (LOVE IT!) and Traveling Light by Max Lucado--- this book is truly incredible. it talks about the baggage that we carry and how we should not carry these burden by ourselves. it is really awesome and i would recommend it to ANY one who has secrets in their past or present. some quotes i really like from it

" counselors can comfort you IN the storm, but you need a God who can STILL the storm."
"God does not check the weather, he makes it."
"you need to meet today's problems with TODAY's strength. "
"he promises us a lamp unto our feet not a crystal ball into our future...."

another study i was doing on confidence with a girl was really humbling, god gives us just enough confidence to do the job but the second we think we did anything by ourselves pride gets in the way and we need to be shot back down to earth.

what is confidence? how do you define it? how would you tell someone to go about getting confidence?

signing off....

new year...

i have so many other things to do right now. but here i am updating my blog... hahah . i would love to go through 2007 and really reflect on it.. but now is not the time. ALSO i will be adding TONS of pics in the next few days of the new apartment and from over break. yay! it will be great....

i need to pack for school/new apartment. we are leaving early morning but i am so tired and exhausted from everything that I don't even want to start. i know once i do it wont take long, but that first step.
until then i will let you in on some goals for this year.
1. create a budget. and stick to it. at least for spring. for this month or like two weeks i am going to track my spending and then see where my money goes, because with my new apartment i know that i will have so many unexpected expenses...
2. not be negative. my mom says i am so negative, but i am not sure when that is, but i danno it offended me that she said that, but then again is that me be negative again? i danno, but i am wearing a negative hairtie. every time i am negative i have to switch wrists. so far i haven't been able to go one day. studies prove that it takes 21 days to form a habit, my goal is not to switch the band for 21 days. this one might take all year but i am willing. my grandma is doing it with me. we are keeping each other accountable.
3. read more. of everything. one of the seminars at indy christmas conference talked about reading the same passage in the bible every day for a month. so i have picked Psalms 84 for the month of january. i cant wait to see how god opens up my eyes through this passage. who knows what february will bring.
4. write more. like love letters, faraway friends letters, letters to everyone and about everything.
5. not put people.god.myself.life. in a box. there is so much god can do without us putting him in a box.
6. cook!
i think thats it. oh yeah loose 45 lbs. haha no i am just kidding. but i am going to work out but its not going to be a resolution or anything just to get healthy.

anyways. this christmas break has been surprising less awkward that i was expecting. again i am putting my family in a box. i danno i have been lots of things happen and people growing.

update in a few with PICTURES... be excited!
