Hello happy bloggers...
my computer was being fixed but hopefully now up and running. I am at the library (my fav spot!) and hanging out before Campus Crusade has its meeting tonite!
Updates on life.
Classes - since they are all on tuesday thursdays and i am liking it alot. i just suck it up and its already the weekend! haha my finance class (the one i was most worried about) i just got an A on our first quiz! so yay! i mean if i keep up with these classes i should do fine. Today in my global strategies class my group had to present a case study on Amazon Japan and the book store industry in japan and it was really neat to see how different Japan is from American. Plus i think our group did a really great job, our professor is really great and i think he liked it! :)
Akpsi--- is starting to be full blown in motion. we just came back from ski trip (more on that later), we had two RUSH nights and our interviews are next week for our new pledges! its weird to think that i am considered an older member... i dont feel old... next week we have a HUGE event on campus called "last rocket standing" and its like the TV show, last comic standing and students have been trying out and everything for this event. it has been marketed big time so hopefully a bunch of people come! then lots of other stuff for this semester with akpsi which I am so blessed with so many opportunities
ski trip- we headed to collingwood ontario in canada to ski last weekend and it was great! Ed and I skied both days and we were really hard core about it! i even went down some black diamonds (those are the really hard ones!) haha we had a good time in really nice chalets (even though ours didnt have water.... it was like camping. but not as fun. ) but overall it was a fun time... ed had a major wipe out and lost his binding for the back of his ski and then he also got a ticket 17 km away from the US border for having his lisence plate covered because of the salt and sand from the snow storm earlier in the day... he got an expensive ticket. he is not happy about that. booo. anyways i loved it and was a true snow bunny! haha i will up load pictures from my computer when it is up and running.... be patient! but the worse thing that happened is now everyone is sick in AKPSI including me... i feel terrible... chills, and stuffy nose, and everything. yuck!
cooking - new apartment! I have been cooking alot, last night i made taco pie! (thanks kathy!) and it was really good! i have left overs for the weekend! if you have more recipes i would love them! i am really enjoying it and so are my roomies! (and ed of course! ) i really like my roommates alot, we dont hang out a ton, but its fine i think we are going to have a fine semester...
speaking of roommates, its time to think of where i am going to live next year (MY SENIOR YEAR! when did this come about so fast!?) i danno what i am doing this summer let alone where i want to live next year... anyways there are a few girls in crusade that we are all friends and are looking into getting a house... hopefully god provides and it will work out awesome. i cant wait!
ohhh i just started two books, one Harry potter 7 (LOVE IT!) and Traveling Light by Max Lucado--- this book is truly incredible. it talks about the baggage that we carry and how we should not carry these burden by ourselves. it is really awesome and i would recommend it to ANY one who has secrets in their past or present. some quotes i really like from it
" counselors can comfort you IN the storm, but you need a God who can STILL the storm."
"God does not check the weather, he makes it."
"you need to meet today's problems with TODAY's strength. "
"he promises us a lamp unto our feet not a crystal ball into our future...."
another study i was doing on confidence with a girl was really humbling, god gives us just enough confidence to do the job but the second we think we did anything by ourselves pride gets in the way and we need to be shot back down to earth.
what is confidence? how do you define it? how would you tell someone to go about getting confidence?
signing off....
